Although he saw boats coming and going from all four corners of the world, he had never thought about going anywhere himself. Until the day something unusual happens…

Aran Island, Ireland, 1958. Here lives and works Dallan Keelin in a lighthouse at the rough coast of the Irish sea.

After years of common routine, Dallan discovers a strange dark stain on the horizon appearing to be identical with the one made by the leaking pen on his map. Curious about the seeming coincidence, he follows his discovery and finds out that the map on his desk stands in direct relation with his environment.
Exactly the same map on which he based all his measurements and observations turns out to be the possibility to change everything he knows — and even more.
